ISLAND PARK - Fremont County Sheriff Len Humphries reports numerous slide-offs in Island Park today. No injuries were reported.
"It is snowing. Island Park is supposed to get two to six inches of snow. Looking at highway cameras at Henry's Lake, the roads are icy, snowcovered and slick. Drivers need to be careful if traveling that way," he said.
The snow showers have also closed I-15 between Dubois and the Montana Border, Humphries said.
Such road closures usually results in travelers detouring to Highway 20, he said.
"I would rather that didn’t happen," he said.
Idaho State Police encouraged drivers to avoid I-15 between Dubois and the Montana border.
Humphries urged travelers to have patience and not rush to their destinations during the snowstorm.
"Sometimes it's better to relax and be safe," he said.
